VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are an integral part of this market’s success!! The Volunteer Signup for 2026 will open in the springtime.

Volunteers must be willing to follow Golden Farmers Market rules and guidelines, as well as any pandemic restrictions that are in place at the time.  Volunteers must also be over 16 years of age, willing to do some physical labor and get a little dirty, and have a positive and cheerful attitude.

The following shifts are available every Saturday for 19 weeks, from the last Saturday in May to the
first Saturday in October.

6:30AM – 8:30AM Market Set-Up (5)
Assist market manager & vendors with set-up. All physical labor with mostly heavy lifting: set-up
tents, set out barricades and road/traffic signs, load equipment, move tables, general event set-up.

8:30AM – 10:30AM Market Ambassador (2)
Assist market manager, vendors, and customers, as needed. Direct traffic and customer flow. Give
breaks to vendors, put up signage, keep handwash/sanitizer stations stocked, sanitize surfaces,
trash control, etc. Assistance at our SNAP/headquarters booth is highly appreciated but it is low-key and a good fit for someone who doesn’t want to do much physical work.

10:30AM – 12:30PM Market Ambassador (2)
Assist market manager, vendors, customers as needed. Direct traffic and customer flow. Give
bathroom breaks to vendors, put up signage, keep handwash/sanitizer stations stocked, sanitize
surfaces, etc. Assistance at our SNAP/headquarters booth is highly appreciated but it is low key and a good fit for someone who doesn’t want to do much physical work.

12:30PM – 2:15PM Market Tear Down (6)
Assist market manager and vendors with tear down — all physical labor with mostly heavy lifting:
Tear down tents, gather barricades and road/traffic signs, load equipment, move tables, tear down
handwashing/sanitizing stations, etc.

12:45-2:15- SNAP/HEADQUARTER WATCHDOG AND BREAKDOWN (1)
This is a low profile position with little to no physical requirements. Responsibilities include
monitoring our money box while breaking down the headquarters area and answering vendor
questions (or pointing them to market staff for answers).
